So Slenderman is basically just a guy that had enough with his limited human body and said, "Fuck it, we evolving!"

This looks like the part of the movie where the main character can't hold in the sadness anymore and let's it all out at the worst time and no-one comes over to give her any warmth or comfort as the scene transitions to her just being alone in her apartment completely-numb with a vacant expression on her face.
