How does one keep from feeling like their art is just work?
Don't do it when it feels like work.
Unless it is your job of course, then you just find the art in it again.
Relax and take breaks.

That is true. One of my senior colleagues can turn even a corpse examination into such a spiritual and artful process that I am always amazed by him.
